Module 4: Lesson 3
Students will learn why astronauts train for space at Aquarius. Using what they know about Aquarius and other planets, students will answer research prompts that explore the characteristics of planets within our solar system and the similarities between the sea and space.
Lesson Plan
Essential Question(: What makes Aquarius the best analog for being in space? How are other planets in our solar system similar to/different from Earth in terms of surface and atmospheric features, relative distance from the sun and ability to support life?
Objectives: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
- Identify reasons why Aquarius is the best analog for space training
- Analyze and interpret data on the planets in our solar system to compare and contrast size relative to Earth, surface and atmospheric features, relative distance from the sun, and ability to support life
